Get To Know Habitot

Habitot develops young brains
by sparking imagination and creativity.

Our decades of experience serving over 1.5 million visitors lay a strong foundation for us to now create Habitot’s New Place to Grow.

For the past 22 years, Habitot Children’s Museum has provided a safe and inclusive space for families with young children — one that inspires playing and learning, supports family togetherness, and brings our diverse community together.

For new parents, Habitot is a ‘learning laboratory.’ One-of-a-kind hands-on exhibits and facilitated art programs build curious, creative, and confident children.

Habitot is a 'learning lab' for the whole family.

The active engagement of caring adults is essential for children's learning and growth. Parents are eager for information and support to help their children succeed, and when parents pay attention to their children, and even participate in their play, emotional connections are made and family well-being is enhanced.

The traditional support system for parents has all but disappeared, and with it the myth of instinctive parenting. Parenting is neither instinctive nor simple, and everyone needs help.

When people think of giving to low-income communities, they usually think of “stuff” (toys, clothing, etc.). What these families really need is time together, experiences that are playful, joyful and enriching, and opportunities to build or re-build the family.
